The Leak

Description
The Leak - La Fuite allows Montreal residents to search and submit information on an apartment/landlord where they have stayed, or are interested in renting. It seeks to provide some extra information to better inform an important decision, or create contact with a previous tenant.

Concept
The Leak is not a piece of art. It was meant to be a social experiment, and a personal project that tested my own ideals and assumptions about social media and Web activism. It is also about community and solidarity. Built at a slow pace during 2009-2010, the Web-based platform had no other client in mind than the residents of Montreal, and was never funded or officially supported by any organization.

The Leak is aiming to create a long-term presence in the Montreal area (and eventually in other cities) and cumulate data over the years - which in turn will serve the people living there. I strongly believe in the virtues of communication and the power of technology to fill in the social, temporal and spatial gaps of this world.
